Control cables have copper cores, with nominal cross-sectional areas of 2.5 mm² and below, 2-61 cores; 4-6 mm², 2-14 cores; and 10 mm², 2-10 cores. Operating temperature ratings for control cables: 65°C for rubber insulation, and 70°C and 105°C for PVC insulation. Control cables used in computer systems generally use products insulated with PVC, polyethylene, cross-linked polyethylene, or fluoroplastics.
